Self-Suggestion Guide
"One of the greatest, most mysterious entities in the known universe is
aware that I am reading this. This entity is simultaneously dangerous and protective, stupid and brilliant, evil and saintly, guilty and innocent, worldly and naïve. It is the subconscious mind (Dr. Charles Henderson)."

1. It is always NOW in my self-suggestions.
2. I know what my goals are and my conscious mind is saying what I want in my self-suggestion.
3. When I am not getting results, I am using SIMPLER words in my self-suggestions.
4. I Am Doing the Exercises A Dozen Times a Day, especially when I awake and just before I fall asleep. When I am better I am doing it in many different places, and when I am a master I am doing it anywhere, anytime.
5. I Am Relaxing As Deeply As Possible When I Start, closing my eyes and listening to my breathing. When my mind is wandering away from my breathing, I am again listening to my breathing.
6. I Always Count Myself Down SLOWLY. I am using the very popular "Ten, nine, eight," etc., or the elevator going down ten floors, or taking each breath deeper and deeper. The important thing is that I am not approaching the door to my dreams with impatience.
7. My subconscious mind is taking everything literally. It is like a computer.
8. I KNOW the "Who, When, Where, What and Why" of What I Want to Accomplish.
Who. I know if there am other people involved in the problem. For example, has someone such as a parent or teacher said something in the past that is now blocking me?
When. At what time in my life did the problem start? How old was I? The specific date or even time of day that something happened can cause an insight.
Where. Location can sometimes give insight into the source of a problem. Where was I when it started, or where was I when the triggering event occurred?
What. The "what" could have been something said to me by a parent, or it could have been my misinterpretation of something I sensed or experienced, or just about anything else in my history. This history includes both public events (those things someone else could also experience or witness at the same time) and private events, the things that go on only within myself and that am not directly observable by others. All are equally important.
Why. The 'cause' is needed for completion. But remember: knowing 'why' will not in itself solve the problem.
9. I am being positive. I avoid negative wording such as: "I no longer over-eat". Positive: "I am losing weight", or "When I want to smoke I brush my teeth instead."
10. "A picture is worth a thousand words". I visualize exactly what I want, the way I want to look, what I want to be doing, how I want to be doing it, and any other details I think important. In the case of weight loss, I see myself looking in a mirror and admiring the way I look in new clothes. Or without them.
11. I Take One Step At A Time. I move up the ladder of change one rung at a time. I do not try to reach the top all at once. I do it by degrees.
12. I Avoid the attempting the impossible. I am not going to change my eye color, reverse the aging process, or get rid of 20 pounds of fat overnight. How do I know what is impossible? I use my own judgment. I climb the ladder gradually until I have reached the limits of possibility.
